DDB campaign wins Grand Prix at global Green Awards

GLOBAL – The China Environmental Protection Foundation, in association with DDB China Group, has been awarded the Grand Prix at this year’s Green Awards held on Friday in London.

The Green Awards Grand Prix is the overall winner of the event which is judged the best among all the entries. This award is for a campaign which best exemplified an outstanding environmental message, and had the greatest capacity to raise awareness.

The awarded campaign, 'Green pedestrian crossing', is an outdoor installation encouraging Chinese people to do their bit for the environment by walking more and driving less. It involved the creation of an outdoor poster advertisement on a pedestrian crossings across seven thoroughfares in Shanghai. 

The initiative went on to reach 3.92 million people and increased general public awareness about the environment awareness by 86 per cent.

The campaign also won a gold Lion at Cannes, among other awards.

This year, the Green Awards took a giant leap by inviting worldwide participation in all 16 categories. Entries were received from all around the world, including China, India, Romania, United States, Denmark, Australia, South Korea and Sweden.
