No list of viral videos for 2010 is complete without the Old Spice guy. This viral created by Wieden + Kennedy will be admired by marketing experts for years to come. Starring actor Isaiah Mustafa this well run campaign managed to engage half the internet, even going as far as picking up an Emmy award for Best Commercial of the Year.

 

Hailing from this region, Y&R Bangkok created this viral video for popular tea brand Oishi's Green Tea Slim product. Launched in July, the video went on to rake in millions of views from around the world. Published as a case study by Campaign Asia-Pacific, it also became one of the most read stories of the year...

Another Wieden + Kennedy success story, Nike's 'Write the future' World Cup 2010 advert starring football legends Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Fabio Cannavaro set the web on fire when it launched in May, ahead of the tournament. Alongside the Old Spice viral, this advert will go down in history as one of the most watched on the web.

Also launched in May, this viral promoting Singapore's Changi Airport's largest ever shopping promotion made headlines as it spread across the web in the region. 'Be a Changi millionaire' features a final crew of 480 complete with percussionists, hip hop artists and breakdancers. The crew rehearsed over five sessions to put together this stellar flash mob-style performance that grabbed the attention of unassuming passers-by. Tribal DDB is behind the initiative. 

Cebu Pacific's safety dance demo video certainly puts a different spin on inflight safety demonstrations. According to a report in October, the video, featuring Cebu flight attendants dancing to Lady Gaga's 'Let's dance', was picked up by the likes of CNN, Time Magazine and The New York Times. Understandably, the airline was "very thrilled with the outcome."
