Weber Shandwick hires Jon Wade as regional head of digital communications practice

HONG KONG - Jon Wade (pictured) has joined Weber Shandwick in a newly created role as head of digital communications practice for Asia-Pacific, effective January 2011.

Wade will be based in Hong Kong and work closely with the 17 offices across the APAC region. As the head of digital communications practice, his main responsibilities will be to set up cross-organisational collaboration and educating practice groups.

Wade will report to Baxter Jolly, vice chair for Asia-Pacific at Weber Shandwick.

“Jon is a leading light in the European digital marketing scene,” said Tim Sutton, Weber Shandwick’s Asia-Pacific chairman. “This is a big step toward our goal of becoming a major player in the digital communications sphere in the region."

Wade is moving from WPP’s Wunderman in the UK, where he is current the director of digital strategy. He is also a member of the Europe board of directors for the Mobile Marketing Association.
