Windows 8 release date revealed

Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 8 will be released on 26 October, fulfilling its promise of a late October release date. Whether or not the Microsoft Surface will also launch on or near the same date remains to be seen, but we're looking forward to getting our hands on one as soon as we can to give you our first impressions. Original iPad prototype was fat and made from white plastic

Pictures of Apple's first iPad prototype created between 2002-2004 have hit the interwebs, showing off a rather chunky white plastic affair which is a million miles away from the iPad we've come to know and love. Measuring in at just under an inch thick with a white plastic iBook-esque finish, the 035 iPad prototype still manages to please the eyes, though we wouldn't fancy lugging it around on our morning commute. Read more...

Apple ordered to publish “ads” for Samsung

Apple has been ordered to post a notice on its website and in British newspapers and magazines alerting the public to the fact that its iPad design was not copied by Samsung. Judge Colin Birss, who on 9th July ruled that the iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab were unlikely to be confused because Samsung’s designs are simply “not as cool” as Apple’s. Read more...
