Both Burge and Potter will report to Chris Thomas, chairman and CEO of BBDO Asia. According to Thomas: “These promotions recognise the exceptional contributions Carol and Jean-Paul have made to the growth and success of our BBDO/Proximity network in Asia.”

“Their track record is unsurpassed,” he continued. “We’d be remiss if we didn’t try to make greater use of their talents in helping to further the growth and development of BBDO/Proximity throughout Asia.”

“The enlarged responsibilities are designed to provide individual offices with additional network support,” added Thomas. “Carol is a great leader who has built a tremendous team spirit which will now be extended to Hong Kong and Taiwan. Jean-Paul continues to lead the development of Singapore into a significant regional hub as well as a powerful force in the home market. We have some phenomenally powerful creative agencies in Southeast Asia - his role will be to help further develop their regional business, talent, and work.”

Burge joined BBDO in 2003 as regional business development director. He was named to the CEO role in Singapore two years ago.

Since then, the Omnicom agency has picked up accounts including SingTel, NETS and HP while being appointed regional network lead on current global clients such as P&G, J&J and Fonterra.

Potter joined BBDO China three years ago. Since then BBDO has opened offices in Beijing, to serve clients including Mercedes and HP, and Guangzhou, to work for Wrigley and P&G.
