The communication programme was tailored to highlight ESR’s unique business model plus the growth potential of the APAC market, which is the most dynamic and fastest growing logistics market in the world.
Planning & Execution
Set ESR apart from its peers by drawing the spotlight onto its distinctive position including its solid leadership in various markets, strong track record like AUM and profit growth, as well as its network of world-class shareholders, capital partners and tenants.
Both the international and local financial media were not familiar with ESR and the logistics real estate industry then. Thus, media education sessions were conducted to explain the key strengths of the Group and answer enquiries about the industry. Small group meetings with opinion leaders were also arranged to help them understand ESR’s unique business model and sound financial track records.
We also cooperated seamlessly with the underwriters in addressing investors’ requests, ensuring management availability for making the best of all valuable marketing opportunities. International roadshows were arranged in Hong Kong, Singapore, London and New York.
Effectiveness / Results
Approximately HK$14.0 billion was raised, making the IPO of ESR the third-largest in Hong Kong in 2019. Stock price rose by 5.4% from the Offer Price of HK$16.8 per share to HK$17.7 per share on closing on the first trading day with around 96.5 million shares traded. The campaign succeeded in helping ESR establish solid relationship with the financial and real estate/property media, international and Hong Kong-based, raising ESR’s visibility in Hong Kong. ESR and its IPO had widespread media coverage - a total of 361 media reports including 18 TV & radio clips were generated in 2019, with media value worth reaching HK$92,428,158.
